Brass wire is the material of choice for oboists and is used to hold shaped cane together during the tying on process or to stabilise a finished reed. Our brass wire comes on a wooden reel and is c.20m in length.

We recommend a thickness of 0.3mm or 0.35mm for oboe reeds. The wire with a thickness of 0.4mm is recommended for Cor Anglais.
